Descubrir el sentido de las cosas, especialmente las descartadas, tiradas por inútiles, es un mecanismo de defensa ante lo "irreparable" ante ese dejar de "ser", La palabra utilizada para ese "redescubrir" y renovar la vida de la "cosa en cuestión", es "reciclar". Es dotarla de nuevo significado, renovar o infundir nueva utilidad a esa cosa que redescubrimos y quizás reinventamos.
El mundo de la imagen, actualmente muy acelerado, donde todo está codificado, clasificado, y todo sucede muy rápidamente, nos entrega constantemente desechos visuales pues cuando los vemos ya se han multiplicado infinitamente y nos cubren, nos apabullan, sin poder reaccionar, atinar, a "ver" la esencia de la cosa, de la imagen.
Buscar y descubrir algo en la imparable montaña de imágenes desechadas es una tarea titánica y a la vez azarosa. Como en la geología se hallarán estratos, capas a clasificar; publicidad, periodismo, humor, arte… Solo una voluntad especial, exquisita acomete este desafío, o bien se lo auto impone.
Aljona Shapovalova es esta persona, esta artista que con paciencia y constancia hurga entre desechos visuales, descubre y valora sus hallazgos y elabora con ellos nuevas significaciones, nuevas ideas, nueva critica y recrea realizando una nueva obra de arte que hablará de su contemporaneidad, de este universo que nos toca vivir; con la esperanza de perdurar dicha imagen en un cuadro, en un muro como mudo testigo en el tiempo.
